Jason "Lunchbox" Brown is an American player for Evil Geniuses. He is also well known for his time on teams Instinct and 5K.

Biography

Jason Brown and twin brother Justin "Roy" Brown were born on July 6, 1990 in Illinois. Alongside his professional Halo career, Jason is an apprentice electrician.[1]

Halo 2

Lunchbox began his professional career in 2007 as a member of 5K alongside Hokum, Fearitself and his twin brother Roy. The roster would stick together the entire year getting 4th in Charlotte, 5th in Meadowlands, 4th in Dallas, 5th in Chicago, 12th in Orlando and qualifying for Vegas where they would finish in 5th.

Halo 3

In 2008 he and his brother would form Instinct with Mackeo and Victory X for Meadowlands where they would finish in 3rd. They then swapped out Victory X for Snip3down and came in 2nd in San Diego. The original roster would unite once more bringing back Victory X in place of Snip3down for Orlando and would get a 3rd place finish. Mackeo and Victory X were then replaced in favor of Walshy and Soviet for Toronto and they would finish 2nd. The roster stayed the same for the rest of the year getting them 5th place in Dallas and 2nd place in Vegas.

2009 saw the team sub out Soviet in favor of Neighbor for Meadowlands and Columbus where the team would finish in 2nd and 5th respectively. Walshy was then swapped out for Ghostayame for Dallas where they finished 3rd. Ghostayame was then swapped with Fearitself for Anaheim where the team placed 7th and Orlando where they got 4th place. In 2010 he and his brother shook up the roster once again, recruiting Cloud and Elamite Warrior. The team placed first in both Orlando and Columbus netting the twins their first professional tournament victories. The roster would stay together the rest of the year, taking 2nd in Raleigh, 6th in DC and 3rd in Dallas.

Halo: Reach

2011 brought more roster changes for the twins as they added Totz and Tsquared to the Instinct Roster for Dallas and finished in 6th. They then swapped those two out for Ogre 2 and iGotUrPistola to round out the roster for the remainder of the year. They won Columbus and Anaheim before finishing 2nd in Raleigh. They then finished 5th in Orlando before winning the final tournament of the year in Providence. They played the MLG Winter Championship 2012 with the same roster and finished in 2nd place.

Lunchbox and Instinct's final Reach tournament was AGL 2 Columbus, where they finished 1st.

Halo 4

The Instinct roster went on to play at MLG Fall Championship 2012 where they finished in the 9th-12th range.

Lunchbox played without his brother at an event for the first time ever when he attended AGL 4 Chicago and teamed with Pistola, Sargoth and Cobys2Fast as Legendary, taking 3rd place.

Halo 2: Anniversary

Near the beginning of HCS Season 1, Lunchbox returned to competitive Halo, joining his brother on Evil Geniuses with Snip3down and Pistola. They placed 2nd at Iron Gaming Columbus, but were forced to replace Pistola with Lethul after Pistola injured his hand. The new squad placed 3rd at UGC St. Louis 2015 before winning Gamers For Giving 2015 and the season finals at PAX East 2015.

Lunchbox and Evil Geniuses kicked off season 2 at Iron Games Atlanta 2015, where despite losing the first series of the Grand Finals to Denial eSports, they were able to fight back and win the extended series to take 1st, making it three straight event wins for Lunchbox and EG.[2] Lunchbox and EG's dominance continued at HCS Indianapolis, where they won their fourth straight LAN event.[3] At the HCS Season 2 Finals, EG finished in 1st as expected, despite losing the initial Grand Finals series to Counter Logic Gaming.

Halo 5

Halo World Championship 2016

The dominant EG lineup stuck together until January 2016, when Lethul opted to leave to join Counter Logic Gaming. In Lethul's place, EG picked up the relatively new Commonly. At X Games Aspen 2016, EG won the first chapter of the rivalry against Lethul, defeating CLG 4-3 in the finals and winning gold medals. At the HWC NA Regional Finals 2016, EG were defeated 4-0 in the semifinals by CLG, ending their historic tournament winning streak.

Pro League

Shortly after the HWC concluded Commonly was released from the roster and was placed by Suspector, who is just coming off of a second place finish at Worlds. Since Suspector was a member of the now broken up Allegiance team, EG received an invite to the HCS Pro League Invitational 2016 at PAX East 2016. It was at this tournament that EG beat Team EnVyUs, dominated OpTic Gaming, and then took down EnVy again in the grand finals to secure their spot in the Halo Championship Series Pro League 2016.

Trivia

  • Regularly competes in the professional scene with his twin brother Roy.
